David Kinnett, Principal

David Kinnett is principal and co-founder of Pinnacle Real Estate Ventures and leads development operations for the company. His career spans more than 25 years and covers all facets of the real estate development business, including due diligence and feasibility, financial analysis, site planning, entitlement, project management, purchasing, construction, and warranty operations.

Kinnett co-founded Pinnacle Communities, a private home-building operation in Southern California in 1998 which transitioned into the formation of Pinnacle Real Estate Ventures in 2003. Previously, he served five years as Vice President of Operations for The Olson Company, a private homebuilder specializing in infill development and sustainable new home communities throughout California.

Kinnett for six years managed development operations for dozens of communities in six different counties at Barratt American, a prominent Southern California homebuilding company. Prior to that he spent three years at Bay Harbor Development & Construction, a general contractor specializing in residential remodeling and construction.

Kinnett has a well-rounded background in the industry from field construction knowledge to office finance and management. He has developed hundreds of communities and more than 3,000 homes in 30 different cities.

He graduated from the University of Southern California with a bachelor’s degree in finance and business economics and an emphasis in real estate finance in 1988.
